Sara J. ( Allinder) Reinert, 75 left us to be with Jesus on February 10, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson ’s disease.

A lifelong resident of Indianapolis she graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1953. A few years later she went to work for Merchants National Bank where she met and married her husband of 44 years, Joe, blending their 7 children into one large family. Sarah retired from the bank after 30 years of service. Her hobbies included quilting, ceramics, traveling and bird watching from her kitchen.

Preceded in death by her parents Austin J. and Marjorie F. (Burnett) Allinder, brother Richard Allinder, sister Jean (Allinder)Hoon, sons Herbert J. (Joey) Reinert III and John Reinert.

She is survived by her devoted husband Herbert J. (Joe) Reinert, Jr., daughters Lori Gunning (Keith) Vaughn, Lisa (Gunning) Sellers, Sherry Reinert, Susan Reinert (Phil) Nelson, Sandra Reinert (Sam) Phillips, sister Patricia Whitacre, 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation service by Harry W. Moore Funeral Care & Crematory there will be no service or internment at this time. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the charity of your choice or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
